Margin estimate
A simple margin estimate divides position value by leverage. A $10,000 position at 10× leverage therefore requires about $1,000 of margin before platform-specific adjustments.
Margin is not the same as maximum loss. A leveraged position can lose more than the initial price movement implied by the margin amount, subject to the platform’s risk and liquidation rules.
